After 2 night at our own cabin in the mountains we heading down valley to spend the night at the Elkford campground. Our ride "down" was harder than expected, "just" 30 miles and forest service roads, no single track. The multiple bear signs (including wet paw prints on the road of a mama and cub) and the heat of the sun made the ride more challenging than expected. The vast expanse of the valley makes judging of road grades hard. Several times when the riding was slow I looked at my Garmin surprised (and relieved) to see a +5-7% grade.
